After releasing the Find X8 series back in October, Oppo has had time to refine what could be the more interesting models in the family – first and foremost the Ultra camera flagship but also the company’s first compact camera flagship.
The Oppo Find X8 Ultra features a powerful penta-camera system co-developed with Hasselblad. The main module has a 1” Sony LYT-900 sensor, then there’s an ultra-wide (1/2.75” JN5) and two telephoto modules – 3x (70mm, 1/1.56” LYT-700) and 6x (135mm, 1/1.95” LYT-600). All four have 50MP sensors and are joined by the True Chroma Camera, a 9-channel multispectral sensor for more natural color rendering.
The advanced image sensors and lenses are paired with the HyperTone Image Engine, which is developed in-house at Oppo. Also, the company says this is the thinnest camera flagship at 8.78mm thick – not counting the camera island, of course.
The Oppo Find X8 Ultra is a proper flagship away from the camera too. It has a 6.82” LTPO display (1-120Hz), a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 6,100mAh Si/C battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging and an IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance rating.
The Oppo Find X8s is the company’s compact camera flagship with a 6.3” display and super thin 1.25mm symmetrical bezels. We know some of you will argue that 6.3” isn’t compact, but it’s the smallest size that sells well on the market – attempts to go smaller have not been met with success.
The X8s measures 7.73mm thick and weighs 179g, which is enough room for a large 5,700mAh battery. It is powered by the Dimensity 9400+ chipset and has a triple 50MP camera that is also co-developed with Hasselblad. The camera setup includes an 85mm telephoto lens.
The Oppo Find X8s+ is the sequel to the Find X8 – it upgrades to the Dimensity 9400+ (from the non-plus 9400) and keeps the 6.59” display. It has a triple 50MP Hasselblad camera on the back (73mm tele) and a larger 6,000mAh battery (up from 5,630mAh) while staying roughly the same size at 7.95mm thick and weighing 198g.
Oppo’s current plans are to offer the Find X8 Ultra and the two X8s models only in China. Would you like to see a global launch for these three and, if that happens, which one would you pick?
The Oppo Find X8 Ultra is one of the top camera flagships for 2025 and it isn’t lacking in other aspects either. Would you buy one if Oppo brings it to your country? Would you try importing one from China?
What about the Oppo Find X8s? It’s as small as flagships go these days and this one has a larger battery than models from Apple, Samsung and Google.
Finally, the Oppo Find X8s+ is a nice upgrade over the vanilla Find X8, but does it bring enough to the table?
