Match preview for Tottenham v Brighton
Tottenham will close out their rollercoaster Premier League season on Sunday, fresh from their Europa League victory parade, when they welcome Brighton to North London.
Spurs supporters have been starved of silverware for 17 years, but Brennan Johnson’s effort in Bilbao sealed a memorable win over Manchester United.
The win has overshadowed a disappointing league campaign that could still end in a historic low finish of 17th.
But with a European trophy in the bag and Champions League football secured for next season, fans will be in full party mode at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
For manager Ange Postecoglou, there’s a chance this could be his last game at the helm, yet he will depart having accomplished something even the likes of Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino failed to do in North London.
Meanwhile, Brighton still have European hopes alive – albeit with a slim chance of Conference League qualification.
Sitting eighth and three points clear of Brentford, a point would cement that eighth spot. However, for the Seagulls to make it to the Conference League, they’ll need a perfect storm of other results elsewhere, including Chelsea finishing seventh or Newcastle ending up in seventh and winning the Conference League final.

Team news for Tottenham v Brighton
The only downside to Tottenham’s European glory was the sight of Richarlison limping off in the second half.
While his injury didn’t stop him from celebrating post-match, he’s expected to miss Sunday’s finale, joining Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, Dane Scarlett, James Maddison, Timo Werner and Lucas Bergvall on the sidelines.
Postecoglou is likely to rotate heavily after the final, with Postecoglou also confirming both Cristian Romero and Heung-Min Son will both be rested, as well as Yves Bissouma after picking up a knock.
Brighton’s preparations have been overshadowed by Joao Pedro’s absence following a training-ground incident with Jan Paul van Hecke.
The Seagulls will also be missing Georginio Rutter (foot), James Milner (thigh), Ferdi Kadioglu (toe), Solly March (knee), while Tariq Lamptey (knee) and Jason Steele (finger) are doubtful.

Prediction
With the atmosphere sure to be electric after their Europa League win, Tottenham will have every reason to go out on a high.
However, Postecoglou is set to ring the changes, while Brighton have a strong recent run and far more to play for in terms of eighth place.
