Sony is making the Xperia 1 VII official on May 13, and ahead of that today we have a bunch of leaked renders showing it in all three colorways – and yes, purple is back (alongside black and green).
As you can see, the Xperia 1 VII looks just like its predecessor, Sony isn’t giving up on its trademark look. Unsurprisingly, Sony uses the Zeiss T* coating on the camera lenses. Speaking of cameras, one of them is a periscope telephoto of course. The ultrawide is new and advertised to use a 2.1x larger sensor than the one in the Xperia 1 VI.
The Xperia 1 VII retains the 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers (which have improved low-to-mid range), and it has a 5,000 mAh battery for advertised two-day battery life. The display will be Bravia branded once again, and there will be two auto-brightness sensors, one on the front, one on the back (pretty standard stuff for flagships nowadays).
Sony will promise four major Android updates and six years of security patches for the phone, which is launching with Android 15. A recent Geekbench listing also revealed that the Xperia 1 VII is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM.
