Samsung has been rumored to bring an Ultra variant to its Fold series for quite some time and we now have the first official teaser for the Fold7 Ultra. The device will launch later this year alongside the vanilla Z Fold7 and the clamshell Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE. Samsung’s new foldables are rumored to launch at an in-person event in New York in early July.
The Z Fold7 Ultra teaser showcases a slim profile. How slim? We don’t know yet, but it will certainly be thinner than the outgoing Z Fold6, which measures 5.6 mm in its unfolded state and the Z Fold Special Edition, which is 4.9mm. Equally exciting, Samsung promises the Ultra will have best-in-class camera, which is no small claim, considering the vivo X Fold3 Pro‘s excellent shooter.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra teaser
The Z Fold Ultra is not exactly unexpected. It was supposed to happen last year with the Z Fold6 generation until it didn’t. Samsung then announced the Z Fold Special Edition in South Korea and China as the W25 in late October with larger 8-inch main and 6.5-inch cover screens, a 200MP main cam and 16GB RAM, all in a thinner (4.9mm when unfolded) and lighter package.
