Redmi Pad 2 goes official with 90Hz screen and 9,000mAh battery

Xiaomi’s Redmi Pad 2 is the latest addition to the brand’s growing tablet lineup. As the name suggests, this is the successor to the entry-level Redmi Pad from 2022. The upgrades between the two are subtle, with the new model getting a higher resolution (2560 x 1600px) IPS LCD, which now comes in at an 11-inch size and a faster 90Hz refresh rate. It’s also brighter, cranking out 600 nits max brightness.

The other major change is the chipset. While the Pad 2 boasts the newer Helio G100 Ultra – it’s basically a repurposed Helio G99, which was used in the previous gen model. This means we should expect similar performance.

Redmi Pad 2 is available in Wi-Fi only and cellular trims, with both featuring 4/8GB RAM and 128/256GB onboard storage. You also get a microSD card slot, which can take up to 2TB memory cards. In terms of cameras, you get a 5MP front-facing shooter and an 8MP rear module.

The software side is handled by HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, while the battery now comes in at 9,000mAh (1,000 mAh more than the Redmi Pad) and supports 18W charging over USB-C.

Redmi Pad 2 comes in Graphite Gray, Mint Green, and Lavender Purple colors. The Wi-Fi only trim starts at £169 for the 4/128GB version and goes up to £219 for the 8/256GB. The version with 4G connectivity starts at £219 for the 4/128GB trim and goes up to £259 for the 8/256GB configuration.
