Cole Palmer produced a dazzling second-half performance as Chelsea completed an emphatic comeback against Real Betis to lift the Conference League and become the first men’s club to win all four major European competitions.
Palmer set up two of Chelsea’s goals as the Blues ran out 4-1 winners in Wroclaw after their La Liga opponents had led at the break.
Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho and Moises Caicedo scored the goals after Abde Ezzalzouli’s early opener as Enzo Maresca’s side emerged as history-making victors.
The win caps off an impressive last few days of the season for Maresca and his players, following Champions League qualification with victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

How the action unfolded
In the end, it proved to be a game of two playmakers. The first half saw Isco epitomise the notion of ‘class is permanent’, with the former Real Madrid player and five-time Champions League winner lighting up the stage with a spell-binding showing.
With nine minutes gone, the 33-year-old’s neat reverse pass on the edge of the Blues penalty area found Ezzalzouli and the Moroccan made no mistake, sweeping the ball beyond Filip Jorgensen and into the far corner.
Moments later, Marc Bartra tried his luck from distance but this time the Chelsea stopper was equal to it.
Johnny Cardoso then squandered a great chance to double Betis’ lead when he blazed an effort over from Ezzalzouli’s cut-back with Maresca’s side looking rattled.
The Blues eventually established something of a foothold in the contest as the half wore on, but they failed to carve out any clear-cut chances.
In the battle of master and apprentice in the dugouts – Maresca played and worked under Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini – it seemed the elder statesman had the upper hand.
But that would all change after the break when Palmer decided to bring some magic of his own to the party.
Chelsea, however, would have to wait until well over an hour for it to arrive.
On 65-minutes, Palmer cut in from the right-hand side before clipping a teasing, curling cross on to the head of Fernandez. The Argentina international applied the deftest of flicks to direct the ball into the corner, beyond the stretch of Adrian.

The goal seemed to spark Chelsea into life. Suddenly it was the side from London that looked most likely to win the tie.
With the England man at his creative best, Palmer stung the palms of the Betis keeper before setting up Jackson for Chelsea’s second just moments later.
After bamboozling Jesus Rodriguez, Palmer sent in another inviting cross which the Senegal striker duly received, heading home to give the Blues the advantage.
Chelsea were now 20 minutes away from glory. Jackson wasted a great chance when he overhit the ball as he raced through on goal.
But it was Sancho, one of Chelsea’s substitutes, who sealed the game when he bent in a third eight minutes from time.
Betis surged forward in search of a comeback of their own. However, the Spanish side would only suffer further punishment as Caicedo supplied the proverbial icing when he blasted home in stoppage time to cap off a resounding victory.
