“Why not be confusing when you can be confusing?” seems to be the mantra for a lot of Chinese companies when it comes to naming things. Or maybe they don’t think the Internet exists – or that it’s global. Anyway, OnePlus just announced that it’s launching a new tablet in Europe (and perhaps some other global markets too) on June 5.
This will be called OnePlus Pad 3, but it’s not the OnePlus Pad 3 that launched in China in December. Instead, it’s the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro that launched in China a few days ago.
While we appreciate what this device brings to the table, and how quickly it’s launching outside of China (less than a month), the naming shenanigans are just ridiculously confusing for anyone who’s following global smartphone and tablet news.
That aside, the Pad 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and has a 13.2-inch 2400×3392 LCD screen with 144 Hz refresh rate, 8/12/16GB of RAM, 256/512GB of storage, a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front camera, and a 12,140 mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging. It runs Android 15.
You can pay €1 to receive a €99.99 discount on the tablet when it launches, and you’ll also get an additional €50 coupon for the tablet as well as a gift code for the OnePlus SuperVOOC 80W Dual Ports GaN Power Adapter Kit – which makes us think there won’t be a charger in the tablet’s box.
