The Original Glazed turns 88 this summer, and Krispy Kreme is ready to celebrate.
This year, National Doughnut Day falls on 6/6, which equals a dozen! Krispy Keme is launching its “14 Days of Original Glazed” campaign to celebrate.
Beginning on National Doughnut Day, customers can visit a local participating Krispy Kreme store or drive-thru and buy a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for $2 after buying their choice of a dozen doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme is also celebrating by offering shop visitors a free doughnut of their choice — no purchase required.
“National Doughnut Day is one of our favorite days of the year to celebrate Krispy Kreme fans and how much they love and share our doughnuts, especially the Original Glazed,” Krispy Kreme Chief Growth Officer Dave Skena said in a statement. “With summer on the horizon, when the Original Glazed will turn 88, we’re going to keep the celebration going every day until June 20.”
On June 7, the day after National Doughnut Day, Krispy Kreme will begin the “14 Days of Original Glazed” event, which continues through June 20, the first day of summer.

During the event, Krispy Kreme rewards members can purchase a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for $9.99. Fans can join the rewards program at www.krispykreme.com/rewards.
Krispy Kreme will start another deal on June 13. Any customer who buys a dozen doughnuts can receive a dozen Original Glazed for just 13 cents.
On the first day of summer, June 20, Krispy Kreme “will surprise thousands of lucky fans with 12 months of free Original Glazed doughnuts – one dozen per month beginning July 2025 through June 2026.” Customers will be randomly selected from every store, according to the statement.
Krispy Kreme is also offering a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for $2 with the purchase of another dozen at full price on June 20.
In March 2024, the company announced alongside McDonald’s that Krispy Kreme doughnuts would be available at McDonald’s nationwide. The plan was to extend to 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants by the end of 2024 and eventually to 12,000 locations by the end of 2026.
However, in early May, Krispy Kreme’s stock dropped 25%, CNN reported. The drop left the company “reassessing the deployment” of their rollout to McDonald’s restaurants, according to an earnings release.
As of May 30, Krispy Kreme doughnuts are available in over “2,400 McDonald’s restaurants,” but it will not be adding more locations in this year’s second quarter as they are working “to achieve a profitable business model for all parties.”
