Jennifer Lopez supported her Out of Sight costar George Clooney at his Broadway debut.
On Thursday, April 3, Lopez, 55, attended the premiere of Clooney’s new Broadway play Good Night, and Good Luck and posed with her friend for a photo at the premiere’s afterparty at the New York Public Library. The pair starred together on the big screen 27 years ago in filmmaker Steven Soderbergh’s 1998 crime comedy Out of Sight. Lopez portrayed a U.S. marshal investigating and tracking down Clooney’s bank robber character in the film, which marked his first collaboration with Soderbergh, 62, prior to the Ocean’s heist trilogy.
Decades into Clooney’s acting career, the Oscar winner is making his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck, an adaptation of Clooney’s 2005 film of the same name. Clooney directed David Strathairn as mid-20th century broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow in the movie. In taking the film to the stage, he rewrote its script and now stars as Murrow himself on Broadway.

Lopez attended the April 3 premiere with her teen Emme Maribel Muñiz, 17, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. (The former couple also share Maximilian “Max” David Muniz, Emme’s twin.) Lopez’s sister Lynda Lopez also appeared to attend the play with Jennifer and Emme. Lynda shared photos of herself posing with the pair on Instagram and wrote, “Best dates ever for opening night of #GoodNightandGoodLuck on Broadway! 🎭 🤍🖤,” in a caption.

Clooney’s wife Amal Clooney did not make it out to see the performance. George told reporters at the Winter Garden Theatre that Amal, 47, missed out on opening night because “she’s with the kids.” (They share 7-year-old twins Alexander and Ella.)

Clooney’s arrival on Broadway comes decades into a successful acting career. He most recently appeared on the big screen in 2024’s Wolfs, his latest collaboration with Brad Pitt. As a director, Clooney most recently released his 2023 movie The Boys in the Boat, an adaptation of author Daniel James Brown’s 2013 nonfiction book of the same title.
Lopez, meanwhile, debuted her upcoming movie Kiss of the Spider-Woman at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The film, which her ex-husband Ben Affleck produced through his production company Artists Equity, is expected to release in the fall.
Tickets for Good Night, and Good Luck are now on sale. The play runs through June 8.
