Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has shared a photo of successor Arne Slot and his squad celebrating on the Anfield pitch after winning the Premier League, saying he is “super grateful for the past” and “extremely positive about the future”.
A day after Slot secured the title in his first season in England, Klopp – the last Liverpool manager to win the English title, in 2020 – described himself as “super, super happy”.
The 57-year-old, who ended his reign of almost nine years at the end of last season, also offered his congratulations and gratitude, as well as the acronym YNWA – a reference to Liverpool anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Klopp called on Liverpool fans to support Slot and instigated a chant about the Dutchman while speaking on the pitch following the final game of his reign, when the Reds beat Wolves at home on May 19 2024.

Liverpool finished third in 2023/24 and few had expected them to mount a title challenge this season, with Slot’s task seen as a potentially daunting one after he agreed to join from Feyenoord.
Slot has been credited with seamlessly refreshing Liverpool’s tactics during a campaign in which they have led the table almost throughout and rarely looked likely to be overtaken, winning the title with four matches to spare.
Speaking after the decisive win over Tottenham, Slot said he had exchanged messages with Klopp during the campaign and had found his endorsement helpful.
“He helped me even more by the team and culture he left behind,” added the 46-year-old, who praised the German on the turf after the full-time whistle.

Klopp’s first major trophy at Anfield also came courtesy of a victory over Spurs, winning the 2018/19 Champions League.
Supporters turned the streets of the city red with flares as their team took the title by a landslide a year later, but there was to be no imminent coronation inside Anfield with an audience because of the Covid pandemic.
An EFL Cup and FA Cup double followed in 2022, with Klopp winning the latter competition again in 2024, although fans had hoped Liverpool would win at least one more trophy after a strong start to his final campaign.
The former Borussia Dortmund and Mainz manager announced in January 2024 that he would be taking a break from football after the 2023/24 season, making a surprisingly swift return to the game when he became the Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull at the start of 2025.

When did Liverpool win the title?
The Reds entered their game against Tottenham knowing they needed a point to match Manchester United’s record for English title wins.
There was an element of early doubt for Slot’s side when Dominic Solanke powered Tottenham into a 12th-minute lead, but Luis Diaz quickly restored parity four minutes later.
Aided by an error-strewn Tottenham display, Liverpool then took command as Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo goals gave them a 3-1 half-time lead.
Top scorer Mohamed Salah scored a trademark fourth to put the game beyond any doubt, with an own goal from Destiny Udogie completing the scoring.

Premier League title: Which trophies has Arne Slot won?
Slot succeeded ex-Netherlands manager Dick Advocaat at former club Feyenoord before the start of the 2021/22 season, leading them to third in the top flight and the inaugural Conference League final.
The 45-year-old won the Eredivisie by seven points ahead of PSV in 2022/23 and lifted the Dutch Cup the following season.
He won the Eredivisie Manager of the Year award in both of his campaigns in charge. Feyenoord finished seven points behind PSV in 2023/24, losing two of their 34 league games.
Slot also won the second tier in his homeland as a midfielder for Zwolle in 2001/02 and 2011/12.
