We used the time-saving Seats.aero tool to quickly find availability between North America and Hawaii throughout the summer. Note that Premium cabin award seats on Hawaiian Airlines’ long domestic flights are considered first-class seats here, while international flights are referred to as business class.

JetBlue TrueBlue is offering terrific award rates on Hawaiian flights, especially from Washington state. You can book nonstop first-class award flights to Hawaii starting at 24,500 points each way, plus minimal fees and taxes — an amazing deal for an almost six-hour flight.

While many routes are operated by Hawaiian’s A321 aircraft, which have recliner seats in first class, look for options operated by the A330, which has lie-flat seating in first class.

We also found options flying Hawaiian’s luxurious new 787 Dreamliner first class suites, all with direct aisle access and closing doors, from California for just 49,000 TrueBlue points. Look for “789” in the equipment listing.

If you do not live on the West Coast, consider booking a positioning flight to snag this deal to Hawaii.

You can book these flights online through the JetBlue website. However, remember that credit card transfers to partner programs like TrueBlue cannot be reversed, so ensure you find availability before transferring points.

As mentioned earlier, JetBlue’s TrueBlue program is a 1:1 transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards and Citi ThankYou Rewards. You can also transfer American Express Membership Rewards points at a 250:200 rate, or Capital One miles at a 5:3 rate. Transfers are usually instant.

Here are some great credit card welcome offers that would earn you enough points and miles for a first-class flight to Hawaii.

Bottom line

With warm beaches like Waikiki and the clear waters of Hanauma Bay, Honolulu is great for swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing. Indulge in traditional Hawaiian cuisine like fresh poke bowls or just flop on the beach with a good book.

JetBlue’s TrueBlue program offers excellent rates flying Hawaiian Airlines from the West Coast, especially if you can secure flights operated by A330 or B787 aircraft with lie-flat first-class seating.
