Christian McCaffrey Reveals Olivia Culpo’s Biggest Pregnancy Craving (Exclusive)

Christian McCaffrey is revealing his wife Olivia Culpo‘s surprising pregnancy craving as they await the birth of their first baby together.

On the set of his shoot with Cadillac in Los Angeles, McCaffrey, 28, tells PEOPLE that the biggest craving for Culpo, 32, who announced her pregnancy on Instagram in March, has been salads.

“She’s been craving salads,” says the San Francisco 49ers star, joking, “I never knew that was a thing. I don’t know what it is about the leaves, but she’s been craving them.”

“I guess that’s the craving you would want to have,” he adds.

The couple, who tied the knot on June 29, 2024 in Culpo’s home state of Rhode Island, have been enjoying some downtime during the NFL offseason, vacationing at the luxe Blackberry Farms in Tennessee and binge-watching Top Chef.

“Lately we’ve been watching Top Chef because she’s been researching baby recipes, and not just good recipes, but efficient and fast recipes,” says the father-to-be.

McCaffrey tells PEOPLE he’s already felt a change in himself and Culpo since learning they’d become parents soon.

“I think it’s already changed me in a lot of different ways,” says the NFL star. “I think it puts such a positive pressure on you to not just work extremely hard, but also to be a good example, and I think it just kind of elevates you in every single way.”

The oldest of three brothers, the running back says he wasn’t always so sure he’d be the first father among them.

“Growing up with three brothers, we’ve all played sports, we all played football and basketball and track and baseball, whatever it was, and so we didn’t have the fairytale thoughts. We didn’t have those thoughts growing up, and so all of this is new to us, but it’s been really exciting.”

“I give all the credit in the world to my wife,” he adds of Culpo. “She’s really opened my eyes to what it’s like to be a girl growing up.”
