  • A Reddit user is questioning a seven-year friendship after she planned a four-night bachelorette party for one of her best friends, only for her to act “rude” a lot of the time
  • Despite saying she wanted a “low-key” trip, the bride-to-be ended up trying to get her friends to go out drinking with her, which the poster said the group couldn’t really afford

A bride-to-be told friends at a bachelorette party that they should eat frozen pizza as a “punishment” and instead spend money on expensive drinks, a Reddit user has said.

In a recent post on the forum’s popular Bridezillas thread, a woman explained how she was questioning her friendship with one of her best friends after planning her four-night bachelorette party.

Despite the bride initially stating that she “wanted something fun, but low-key,” saying she wasn’t “really into drinking anymore,” it turns out all she wanted to do throughout the trip was hit the bars.

“It’s night two and [the] bride states she wants to go out to the bars. We all abide and get dressed, head out,” the Reddit user posted, adding that the friends were all in their late 20s and were “not really into the bar scene anymore.”

“A majority of us are struggling with money as is, and this destination is proving to be expensive ($15-18 drinks) … with that being said, we all have about two drinks (while the bride is slamming drinks),” she wrote.

“Bride keeps telling us we need to drink more. She said to me, ‘You don’t need to worry about your little bf, who cares, have some drinks, you know you want to’ (she knows that I have quit drinking for like a year now as I don’t like the hangovers/how it makes me feel. We used to go out all the time, but we were much younger and immature),” the poster continued.

The woman said the bride had also told one of the other girls, “I don’t want to hear the drinks are too expensive, you just bought a new car, so I know you have the money.”

The poster said, “We were out dancing with her and smiling, but after a while it’s just hard to have fun because she keeps making rude comments,” adding that the group headed home in an Uber at around 12:45 a.m.

While on the way home, the poster said that the bride started saying, “Can you play some lullabies because my bridal party just wants to sleep and I’m ready to party. I’ll just head back to the bars by myself,” as the group told her they’d go back with her, if she wanted to.

The bride apparently responded, “No, I don’t want to go with you guys. I’ll just hang out with some cute guys there then,” as the Reddit user pointed out that her friend was set to tie the knot.

“She then Facetimes her fiancé and is loudly telling him ‘Yeah my bridal party is being s—–‘ and he’s sounding annoyed and told her to ‘go to bed it’s 1 a.m,’ ” the woman, who was the “lucky one” sharing a bedroom with the bride, continued.

She said that once they got back to the house, the bride was “slamming around the room” and wouldn’t look at her or talk to her, saying it was “extremely awkward.”

The awkwardness didn’t end there, as the poster said that because they woke up late the following day, they missed the brunch reservations she’d made for them all, and instead ended up heading to a coffee shop to get a “quick breakfast,” then “find food a little later.”

However, the bride ended up throwing her bagel in the trash, claiming she was “going to find somewhere to eat” by herself, so they ended up “waiting in a two-hour line at a restaurant to get expensive mediocre burgers like the bride wanted.”

That night, the bride wanted to go out again, which is when she told her bachelorette party that they’d have to eat cheaper food so they could buy expensive drinks.

Saying the bride wanted “everyone to drink with her,” the poster wrote, “One girl responds, ‘Well, the reason is that drinks are expensive and I can’t afford it.’ Bride says, ‘OK, well then your PUNISHMENT is frozen pizzas tonight and that will save you some money for drinks.’ This night ended up being about like the night before.”

The Reddit user added, “This is a long story, but there were a lot of rude comments made and this has tainted my view on our 7-year friendship. I’m really thinking after this wedding I don’t want much to do with her anymore.”

In the comments section, the post got a mixed reaction.

“I would end this friendship BEFORE the wedding and save yourself a lot of hassle,” one person insisted, as another pointed out, “I wouldn’t have caved on the 2nd night.”

One user said, “I would’ve dropped out of the wedding. This is just insane and perfect for bridezilla,” as a different person asked, “Why are you friends with this person still? There’s a reason people grow out of old friendships and I think it’s time to let this one go.”
