Tottenham v Palace: Line-ups, stats and preview

Tottenham v Palace match preview

Tottenham come down to earth on Sunday after one of the most memorable nights of their season when Ange Postecoglou’s side host Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Spurs overcame a tricky-looking trip to history-makers Bodo/Glimt in style on Thursday, knocking the first Norwegian club to reach a European club semi-final out of the Europa League with a 2-0 win and 5-1 aggregate victory.

The result means Tottenham will face Manchester United in the final in Bilbao on May 21 (20:00 BST), pitting two teams who have had dismal domestic seasons against each other for the right to play in the 2025/26 Champions League.

In the context of Tottenham’s celebrations on the pitch afterwards and the air of potential redemption around the final, a reminder of the fact that they are 16th in the top flight and have lost 19 league games this season is something of an inconvenience.

Palace, too, could be forgiven for not being fully focused with their FA Cup final against Manchester City coming six days later (16:30 BST).

The Eagles are eight points above Tottenham in 12th as part of a respectable season, with any chance of European qualification through their league position all but mathematically over.

“The better our performance is at Tottenham, the better our confidence will be for the final,” said Palace manager Oliver Glasner.

“It’s always the performance that influences the next game a little bit. This performance will influence the confidence and the belief for the final.”
