The Jonas Brothers Support Nick at ‘The Last Five Years’ on Broadway

It was a family affair at the Hudson Theatre in New York City on Sunday, April 6, as Nick Jonas took the stage for the opening performance of The Last Five Years on Broadway.

The beloved two-person musical — which features music, lyrics and a book by Jason Robert Brown — is experiencing its first-ever Broadway production, with Tony Award winner Adrienne Warren starring alongside Jonas in the limited production through June 22.

To celebrate, a slew of stars showed up to cheer the pair on, including Jonas’ own family. Posing for pictures on the red carpet before the curtain went up was his Jonas Brothers bandmates Joe Jonas, 35, and Kevin Jonas, 37, as well as “Bonus Jonas” Frankie Jonas, the trio’s youngest brother.

Frankie, 24, attended alongside girlfriend Anna Olson. The two went public with their relationship in February 2022, and have been sweet on social media since.

Kevin, meanwhile, was there with wife Danielle Jonas. They’ve been married since 2009, and share two daughters together: Alena Rose, 11, and Valentina Angelina, 8.

Nick’s wife, Priyanka Chopra, was at the show, too. The couple, who are parents to 3-year-old daughter, Malti, posed on the red carpet together in coordinating suits.

Other Jonas family members in the crowd included parents Kevin Jonas Sr. and Denise Jonas, plus grandmother Frances Madonia.

The Last Five Years tracks a couple’s relationship, told from two different timelines — her perspective from the end of their marriage and his, from the beginning of their romance.

Whitney White directs the revival, which comes over two decades since it first premiered Off-Broadway in 2002, with Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott.

Both original stars were also at the premiere, as were Adam Kantor and Betsy Wolfe, who led the celebrated 2013 Off-Broadway revival. Joshua Henry showed his support as well, after performing a one-night-only concert of the musical with Cynthia Erivo in 2016.

Other stars in attendance included Darren Criss, Gus Kenworthy, Gracie Lawrence, Bob the Drag Queen, Larry Owens, Vera Wang, Anna Wintour and Shaina Taub.

Sunday’s opening wasn’t the first time Joe and Kevin saw The Last Five Years. The two were both there for Nick’s first performance when the musical began previews on March 18.

The “Lovebug” singers even took time to pose for a group shot with Nick’s costar, Adrienne Warren, 37.

Prior to The Last Five Years, Nick also starred in productions of Annie Get Your Gun in 2001, before going on to star in Beauty and the Beast and Les Misérables — the latter of which he reprised when the show had its 25th anniversary concert.

Just over a decade later, in 2012, the singer led Broadway’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, replacing Daniel Radcliffe and Darren Criss.

Warren, meanwhile, won a leading actress Tony Award in 2021 for her portrayal of Tina Turner in Tina, the musical based on the music icon’s life.

She made her Broadway debut in the musical adaptation of Bring It On, which featured a score by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Kitt and Amanda Green. The actress also starred in the 2016 musical Shuffle Along, or, the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed, earning her first Tony nomination in the process.

Tickets to The Last Five Years are now on sale.
