Zoë Kravitz Says Ex Channing Tatum Has ‘a Lot to Offer’

Zoë Kravitz wishes her ex Channing Tatum a fruitful career.

The actress and filmmaker, 36, opened up about Tatum’s professional future in a newly released cover interview for ELLEs March issue. The two met on set of the 2024 psychological thriller Blink Twice, directed and written by Kravitz in her directorial debut and starring Tatum.

“He has so much more coming, and I think he’s in a place as an actor where he’s feeling really confident and people are seeing different sides of him,” she told ELLE. “He’s got a lot to offer, so I’m excited for people to keep witnessing that.”

Kravitz and Tatum, 44, first sparked romance rumors in August 2021, when they were seen riding a BMX bike together in New York City. Several sources confirmed to PEOPLE that they were in a romantic relationship the following month, with one saying that they were “inseparable.” In February 2020, the couple began talking about each other in interviews.

The pair got engaged in October 2023, but called it off a year later because “they realized they’re at different stages in life,” a source told PEOPLE in November 2024.

Elsewhere in the ELLE interview, Kravitz said that her breakup with the Magic Mike actor does not affect her perception of their movie. “Not at all,” she said, “I love this thing that we made together, and I care for him very much. Even when you bring up how great his performance is, it warms my heart to hear that, and I’m so happy that all of it happened.”

In August 2024, at the Los Angeles premiere of Blink Twice, Tatum told PEOPLE that starring in Kravitz’ movie was a great experience.

“To get to create something with someone that you love is probably one of the most gratifying things other than having a kid with somebody I think,” he shared.

“It’s one of those … you truly are creating something from nothing and it’s just like creating a marriage or creating something where you’re like, everything that we are is going into this thing and you want to make it with people that you love,” he added.

Sources previously told PEOPLE in November 2024 that Tatum and Kravitz are still set to appear in the upcoming movie Alpha Gang despite the split. The alien-invasion comedy will also star Cate Blanchett, Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun and Riley Keough.

An insider told PEOPLE at the time, “They will continue to work together and are excited about a new project. They both love filming and creating. Channing has a lot of respect for Zoë’s focus and passion.”
